Association of Malayalam movie artists (AMMA) had been into conducting stage shows to raise funds for their charity activities. But the mammoth shows which featured much of the artists of Mollywood had to be called off following the complaints from the producers and distributors that stage shows has affected the collections of the films in theatres. And so AMMA has agreed a few years ago, not to conduct any more stage shows in future.
Anyhow, the only association of movie artists in Malayalam is now planning to restart stage shows for raising funds. AMMA which had produced the big movie 'Twenty:20' years ago, was originally planning to go for another production this year. But of late, they seems to have changed their minds and has decided that stage shows will be much easier to organise than going for producing a big budget film. Idavela Babu has now been entrusted to organised two stage shows this year. Reports are that one of the venues will be outside Kerala and that AMMA is in the lookout for more Tamil and Hindi artists for guest appearances in the shows.
