Ace music director Bombay Ravi, who composed some of the best compositions in Malayalam and Hindi, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Ahmedabad based Gramophone Club on Saturday for his contribution to Indian Cinema. The club also organised a live musical programme, featuring Bombay Ravi’s songs.
Ravi, who has over 250 films to his credit, has gifted us with evergreen hits in Hindi like 'Chaudhvi ka chand ho', 'Aye meri zohrajabeen' and 'Baar baar dekho' to name a few. Some of his unforgettable compositions in Malayalam include 'Aareyum bhava gayakan aakkum', 'Saagarangale, paadi paadi' and the recent 'Ee puzhayum kulirkkattum'. He also directed two Gujarati movies: Gher gher mati na chula and Ver ni vasoolat.
